Objectives of the WQMS Program
Monitoring and Surveillance of all drinking water sources in the state by the rural community. Decentralization of water quality monitoring and surveillance of all rural drinking water sources in the state. Generation of awareness among the rural masses about water quality problem and water borne diseases.

WQMS Activities
The Central Laboratory of GJTI is recognized as a SRI (State Referral Institute). Setting up District level Water Quality Testing labs. Identification and assessment of present Water quality testing facilities and needs including financial requirements. Strengthening of labs at district level and Taluka level. Arrangement of hardware and other requirements for labs. Establishing linkages between Water quality monitoring and Surveillance activities. Program for training and development of human resources.
